I was checking out this article online yesterday at WCAX.com that said lawmakers want to improve health in Vermont particularly amongst the low-income Vermonters.  So, they are proposing that people with food stamps NOT be able to purchase junk food.  There’s alot of controversy behind this as some people believe this is not the right way to teach people how to make better food choices.  Others believe that this is a great idea for force people to eat more healthy.

I am torn on this.  I feel like obesity is definitely out of control and needs to be stopped however, who decides what is junkfood? And if I can’t buy junkfood with my Food Stamps can you at least allow me to buy toilet paper, toothpaste, soap, etc.

How do you feel about it?
