Super Bowl XLVI is fast approaching, and all the minutia that comes with it — the Madonna halftime performance, the bank-breaking commercials, the thousands of gatherings across the country, and, oh yeah, the Giants-Patriots game — will be soaked in by millions of viewers across the globe. Before the Super Bowl festivities begin on Sunday, 10 musical artists weighed in on everything happening on Sunday, from their favorite Madonna songs to the team they expect to emerge victorious when the dust settles.

Nick Jonas is watching the game with his “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” Broadway cast mates — and trying to turn some of them into Giants fans. Jojo thinks the Patriots have too much heart to lose. Lil Wayne shares his favorite place to watch the big game. And Eli Young Band’s Jon Jones is still a little embarrassed by the song “Like a Virgin.” Read on to see what your favorite artists are looking forward to this weekend.

My Super Bowl Moment: Past Performers Weigh In

Trey Songz

” I’ll probably kick it with some friends. It changes every year, whether I want to do something big or I want to go to a friend’s house or I want to have something at my house. This year I’ll be at rehearsals, and the first city of the tour in Cleveland, so I’ll be there for a week. I’ll be watching the Super Bowl somewhere there.

” The Giants have upset [the Patriots] before — I don’t think they’re gonna do it this time. Tom Brady’s a monster. I think he’s the best quarterback in the league. But Eli has helped the Giants stay very steady throughout the last few years — they’re very much one of the most steady teams, and nobody kind of expected him to be that good too, so I think it’s great.”

Nick Jonas

“We have a matinee show [of ‘How To Succeed…’] that finishes early enough for us to get back to my apartment. I think I’m hosting a single get-together with some people in the cast. Everyone from the cast comes from different parts of the country, so I think they’ve all got loyalty to their teams. But obviously being here in New York definitely opens up the discussion to being Giants fans for the day — so I can try to convert them.”

“I think the Patriots are an amazing team and Tom Brady is an absolutely incredible quarterback. The things that’s been interesting about the Giants’ season into the playoffs is that they started off okay, then they had a little bit of a struggle, but then they really started to pick their game up in the last four games and have been playing like a team that wants to win the Super Bowl. My opinion is that it’ll be an incredible game — back and forth, lots of points scored, because both quarterbacks are really talented and know how to run their offense. My prediction is the Giants walk away with the title once again.”

Lil Wayne

“My favorite is being there at the Super Bowl and being able to say I was there. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s the greatest event and I can say, “I was at the Super Bowl.” And I can share being there with my family and friends. The first Super Bowl I went to was when the Saints won [in 2010]. To see the city I came from win and to see my mom excited — it was great.”

JoJo

“I’m probably going to find Boston sports pub [in Los Angeles]. There’s this place in Santa Monica that I want to check out, and it’s owned by people from Massachusetts, so I’m going to hopefully go there and be a very stereotypical New England fan. I grew up in Foxboro, so the Patriots stadium was literally my backyard growing up.”

“Of course I’m predicting a win for my Pats. And I don’t necessarily believe in betting or things like that, but if I was gonna put my money somewhere it’d definitely be on the Pats. I just feel we have more heart than anybody. I will argue any sports team from Massachusetts, any sports team from New England, I just feel like we win by default, because we have heart.”

“I really love Madonna’s ‘Hard Candy’ album — that’s probably one of my favorites from her. And I’m looking forward to hearing the new material. She continues to reinvent herself and do something that’s cutting-edge, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what she brings. You just never know what’s going to come.”

“I will probably watch it with my parents. Every year my dad tends to a special recipe for making chicken wings, and we usually have some people over at the house and he makes for us his chicken wings. Since we’re always on the road, it seems to be the best thing to do.”

“If I had to choose, I think I would have to probably choose the Giants because I know more people from New York and I go to New York a lot more, and the Patriots seem like they always win. The Patriots have kind of felt like the Yankees of football, and I think it’s kind of cool to go for the Giants.”

“I love ‘Music.’ I love 80s Madonna, but what affected me growing up was ‘Music,’ and the very first time that I ever heard those chopped-up guitar parts — I had never heard stuff like that before. So I’m hoping that she busts out something like late 90s or mid 2000s stuff.”

Nelly

“I’m picking the Giants on this one. I think the game’s gonna be good — I mean, who doesn’t want to watch Boston against New York? It’ll be a great match. I think both teams are gonna play well, but I think the Giants play a little bit better defense, and I just think defense wins championships in the end.”

“Madonna’s one of the greatest performers of all time, and she’s gonna be on one of the biggest stages in the world. So I know she’s gonna kill it. I hope she does ‘Like A Virgin.'”
