Rapper C-Murder was denied an appeal of the life sentence he’s serving for 2nd Degree Murder.

New Orleans Born Corey Miller was found guilty of shooting 16-year-old Steve Thomas on Jan. 12, 2002, at a now-closed nightclub in Harvey, Louisiana.

Miller, 38, was initially found guilty after a 2003 trial but was ordered a stand trial again by the presiding judge who ruled that prosecutors withheld pertinent background information on three of the defense’s witnesses. The Supreme Court then upheld the request, which left the case open for a new trial. C-Murder was then convicted in August of 2009, and sentenced to life without parole.

On the grounds of not being given a fair trial, Miller requested an appeal, which was heard by a three judge panel at the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.
