Lil Kim recently gave an interview claiming she and Birdman were in talks to sign the Brooklyn rapper to Cash Money Records. She also said she brought a few records to the table during those talks. The records Kim says she brought to Cash Money were taken from her and used to create Nicki Minaj’s current style. The last allegation Lil Kim made was she was almost signed to YMCMB, but things fell apart when Nicki Minaj made it clear she wanted to be the only female rapper in the Cash Money stable.

Birdman went on MTV 2′s video countdown show Sucker Free and denied all of Lil Kim’s claims. Birdman spoke to DJ Envy about the Lil Kim interview and basically said no artist on YMCMB needed to steal music from her because they all write their own original material. The Cash Money CEO told DJ Envy, “Wow. Nah, ain’t no truth to that I mean, we based on creativity. If you know about YMCMB, and you’ve ever followed us or been a part of our music, biting and stealing? That sh** just ain’t for us. All that rap war … all that, we ain’t … we just grinding for the money — sun up, sun down. It’s Nicki Minaj all day, every day.”
So who do you think is telling the truth? Birdman and YMCMB have been accused and sued for shady business practices, but Lil Kim did a year-long bid for lying in court.
