Seattle based MC Freddy E. took his own life over the weekend, shooting himself on Saturday.
Born Frederick Eugene Buhl, the 22-year-old rapper posted a series of depressed and disturbing tweets before committing suicide.
The tweets included Freddy’s goodbyes to friends and family. He also posted that he had a gun and that he planned to use it.
Complex reports that part of his depression stemmed from a failed relationship with Honey Cocaine, an artist signed to Tyga‘s label.
But she took to Twitter after the tragedy to deny any connection between the suicide and their break up, and to offer her condolences.
Freddy E. had a YouTube channel entitled “Jerk TV” that was gaining popularity and boasted a large following. His father, Frederick Douglass Buhl, took to his personal Facebook page to express the family’s sorrow over the tragedy.
“Our family is saddened beyond words; our loss is great; this tragedy is enormous and unforeseen. Not only our family, but the world has lost a talented, sensitive, brilliant young man who lit up our existence with his.
“We love him a great deal, and he will be sorely missed. We pray that God will nowwatch over him, and we ask all of you to include Frederick and our entire family in your thoughts and prayers,” he wrote on Jan. 5.
