Before the year is out, the Maybach Music rapper plans to release two albums.
During a visit to a Philadelphia radio station, Wale revealed that his third solo album will arrive in early summer. He has chosen to keep his list of collaborators short.
“I got a small circle of people that I’m recording with right now,” he said. “It’s all my team really. We’ll see how it goes. That’s how I get the best music.”
The follow-up to his 2011 album Ambition has already spawned the single “Bad” featuring Indianapolis’ Tiara Thomas.
“It’s gonna have one sound. It’s very, very soulful, ‘Bad’ is a pretty good indication of the direction that I’m going for on this particular project. It’s a little nostalgic, a little vintage, but the sounds will make you feel on this album.”
He has been simultaneously recording his fourth project, TheAlbum About Nothing, due later in the year. “I’m knee-deep in that joint,” Wale said of the LP, which will feature comedian Jerry Seinfeld.
If that wasn’t enough, he’s also plotting a collaborative mixtape with fellow MMG MC Meek Mill.
