Jay Z once said “I’m not a businessman, I’m a business… man” and boy is that seeming to be more true everyday.

Not only is the music mogul teaming up with his wife to embark on a summer stadium tour, Mr. Carter will also be teaming up with Mariah Carey and hitting a Duane Reade or Walgreens near you. Yes, you read that right.

In a partnership with Go N’Syde, the brainchild of former Def Jam chief Kevin Liles, the two artists have teamed up to target their fans. Both artists will have an individual flavor geared towards a certain demographic. Jay Z’s Arnold Palmer-inspired drink, “40/40,” will target sports-loving males, whereas Carey’s pink beverage, “Butterfly,” is intended for young to middle-aged women.

The best part about this new product might have to be the bottle. Not only is the drink affordably priced at $1.99, it also allows consumers to point their smartphone at the bottle and call up a content platform related to Jay or Mariah.

According to Liles, interacting with fans is the primary goal with this new launch:

“We have great tasting beverage but the second part of it is providing a new network for the brands or icons to communicate with their fans. I call it disrupting the consumer packaged goods industry by having your products actually talk to you.”

Finally a way to have what Jay is sipping on and interact with him at an affordable price!
