rushhour4730202CBS and the film’s original director, Brett Ratner are bringing the franchise’s script to prime time television.

Deadline reports, CBS has ordered an adaptation of the film to be developed into a hour-long TV pilot.

The cop comedy film that starred Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker was a huge success nearly grossing a billion dollars worldwide ($849.7 million).

According to the current plan, the TV show’s script will follow the movie’s premise, as it will pit a no-nonsense cop from Hong Kong with a rogue, wise-cracking Black officer from the Los Angeles Police Department.
