Christmas came early for some Indianapolis students Wednesday.

Thirty-nine children were picked to take part in the Clothe-A-Child Program. IMPD officers went shopping with each student to help them pick out the right sizes.

The kids got to pick what they wanted at JCPenny and Shoe Carnival in Greenwood.

“We don’t just arrest people, we do other things to help the community and try to generate a bond, because they may need our help one day but I may need Caleb’s help one day,” one officer said of the program.

Donors provide the money for the annual Clothe-A-Child program.
