Early reports claimed Troy Ave’s camp was responsible for the shooting, but a member of Troy Ave’s camp says the Brooklyn rapper was a victim, not a culprit.

UPDATE: Thursday, May 26 – 12:33 A.M. EST

With heavy hearts we’re sad to report that one man has been pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital. The other three victims are reportedly in stable condition.

Just when hip-hop starts making major strides in a mainstream space, this happens.

Shots were fired at T.I.’s Irving Plaza concert in New York City tonight (May 25). The good folks at XXL, whose managing editor was in attendance, is reporting that multiple shots rang throughout the concert venue around 10 p.m. EST.

At the time of the shooting, Brooklyn’s Flatbush Zombies were performing as T.I.’s opening act.

New York’s WPIX11 reports that four people were shot before T.I.’s performance, causing over 1000 attendees to flee in chaos.

“Sources say a woman was shot in the leg and a man shot in the chest around 10 p.m. Police report a third person was shot but no other details were available about their condition.

Fire officials say two gunshot victims were rushed to Bellevue Hospital. One victim is in critical condition and the other stable.”

Details surrounding the shooting are vague. Neither T.I. or anyone in his camp have released an official statement, but sources are saying that he’s OK.

This story is developing.
