68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - Arrivals

Last night’s Emmys boasted the most diverse set of nominees in recent memory, which means we saw an unprecedented number of people of color walking the red carpet before the show.

For the poor folks at “mainstream” media organizations that had to cover the event, that meant a lot of new names and faces to recognize. We know, so hard! Of course mistakes are gonna happen in a situation like this, like mixing up Jenifer Lewis with Wanda Sykes, right to her face:

In case you’re wondering, that’s Sibley Scoles from E!, the woman whose Black card Twitter is threatening to revoke because she can’t tell her legends apart. Her face as Jenifer walked away has us dead, though.

Oh, but that’s not all. There’s the matter of the Television Academy confusing Terrence Howard with Cuba Gooding Jr.. It’s as if Terrence can see the caption in this photo from the photo itself, because his facial expression is undeniably saying “FOH”:

SMH. Next time, use a tip sheet, friends.
