R&B singer Sevyn Streeter took to Twitter late Wednesday night to tell her fans why she couldn’t perform at the Philadelphia Sixers home opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

According to Streeter, she was supposed to sing the National Anthem at the game, but she was denied the opportunity to do so because she was wearing a “We Matter” jersey. See her tweet below:

Per ESPN, the Sixers have released a statement about it but declined to go into details or even the reason why Streeter’s performance was canceled.

“The Philadelphia 76ers organization encourages meaningful actions to drive social change. We use our games to bring people together, to build trust and to strengthen our communities. As we move from symbolic gestures to action, we will continue to leverage our platform to positively impact our community,” the Sixers said in a statement.
