Lionsgate has approved the U.S rights to film Tupac’s All Eyez On Me. The film has been passed down through many producers since 2011. Video Director Benny Boom and Producer L.T Hutton have have been shooting since 2015 in L.A and Atlanta. The biopic is scheduled to be released June 2017.

According to Variety,  “All Eyez on Me” stars Demetrius Shipp, Jr., in his first movie role, as the film chronicles the life and legacy of the late Shakur, including his rise to superstardom as a hip-hop artist and actor, his imprisonment, and his time at Death Row Records.

The cast includes Danai Gurira, Kat Graham, Annie Ilonzeh, Dominic L. Santana, Jamal Woolard, Keith Robinson, and Cory Hardrict.
