R&B superstar Alicia Keys is parting ways with her manager.
Billboard.com is reporting that Keys is splitting from Jeff Robinson, ending a relationship that began at the start of the singer’s career. Robinson and Keys will continue to work together and produce albums through MBK/J Records, but Keys will now oversee her career. The pop diva’s company, AK Worldwide, will take over the opportunities that arise from avenues such as touring, licensing, film and television. Keys and Robinson released a joint statement on Friday which explains, quote, “This decision will allow Alicia more control over all aspects of her career from singing and songwriting, to leading many business ventures and social issues.” The statement goes on to say that the split was “mutually agreed upon and amicable.”
One person Alicia Keys isn’t parting ways with is Swizz Beatz. The singer is currently engaged to the hip-hop producer and pregnant with their first child.
