Rolling Stones magazine reports that Chris Brown was in court last week to provide a progress report on how his probation program is progressing; last year he was sentenced to 1,400 hours of “labor-oriented service” after pleading guilty to assault charges from his violent pre-Grammy “episode” with Rihanna last year.

Chris actually received a rare bit of positive news at the probation hearing, the preceding judge praised him for “doing really, really well.” Chris Brown, doin’ well? You don’t say! The singer was slammed with 5 years probation, 180 days of hard labor, and 52 domestic violence counseling sessions, and he’s working his way through his time with ease, it seems. He’s got 32 days of his labor work down, and has attended 17 counseling sessions, where the agency reports he’s “participating and doing a very good job.” Maybe Chris is actually trying?!
