According to HipHopWired.com, Memphis Tennessee rapper Yo Gotti has pleaded not guilty to charges that he incited a riot at a nightclub that left six people shot.

As previously reported Gotti, real name Mario Mims , turned himself in to authorities Monday for the Thanksgiving weekend incident outside of Level II nightclub.

Police report that the rapper got into a verbal altercation with a rival rapper that escalated into shots being fired.

In court Tuesday he pleaded not guilty.

“We’re confident that at the end of this that Yo Gotti will be found not guilty and this case will be dismissed,” said Yo Gotti’s attorney Art Horne.

“When you’re a celebrity, people automatically want to tie negative things to you and build them up, and that’s what has happened in this case.”
