INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A Winter Storm Warning is in effect across the southern third of Indiana until Thursday at 1 p.m. and a Winter Weather Advisory is also in effect for much of central Indiana.

Some light snow has already begun to fall in western and southwestern Indiana. Snow will fall across the rest of Indiana, especially from 10 p.m. Wednesday through noon Thursday before tapering off to flurries.

Forecast 8 Chief Meteorologist Steve Bray expects 3 to 6 inches of snow in central Indiana, though where snow mixes with ice in some areas, snowfall accumulation will be lower.

A mixture of snow, freezing rain, and sleet will fall throughout the night creating icy conditions for parts of our southern viewing area.
