Jamie Foxx has probably made the best transition from comedian/actor to singer ever in life! Usually its done in reverse and America will just not take you seriously. Somehow he has overcame that and is worthy of any and every Oscar or Grammy nomination he will get in his life. Best Night of My Life is his latest music effort, but is it the best album he could have came out with to end 2010???

ALBUM HIGHLIGHTS

01. This Will Be (Intro)

02. Best Night Of My Life (Feat. Wiz Khalifa)

08. Fall For Your Type (Feat. Drake)

10. Let Me Get You On Your Toes

11. 15 Minutes

12. Sleeping Pill

13. Rejoice

Although I truly think Wiz’s verse is every bit of terrible I can’t front that I really like Best Night of My Life. I take personal offense to Living Better Now Feat. Rick Ross. It really seemed like Diddy and Rozay are taking this “Biggie of the South” thing too far. The Big sample and the track is well put together and I’m sure the majority will feel it and even say its the best song on the album…but I’m not the majority and to me, Ross needs to find his own lane.

The Catch 22 of Yep Dat’s Me Feat. Ludacris & Soulja Boy is that one of the Best Rappers of 2000 plus kills it, but its a collab with a very weak Jamie Foxx verse and the rapper who may have dropped the worst album of the year. This is NOT even reaching in the direction of Unpredictable…but I bet you listen to it twice maybe even 3 times….watch!

Freak Feat. Rico Love may very well be the second or 3rd single to push this album through 2011, but I didn’t really like it. But it does prove that Will.I.Am was and is years ahead of the game when he added Fergie to the Black Eyed Peas and did “Where is the Love with Justin Timberlake”. Usher, Ciara, Nicki Minaj and a few others coming up are following suit. So the Hip Hop and R&B hits you know or even grew up on are basically going to be gone by 2012…sad but true

Winner Feat. Justin Timberlake & T.I. is a good song and for star power purposes people will play it. Rejoice I played for some females and they liked it. A sexual song called Rejoice just didn’t set right with me. When I hear the word Rejoice I think of my Grandmother!

OVERALL… 2.75/5 Jamie Foxx is a nasty dude, but we already knew that. This album has some points where women might be making calls to get hit off real quick and that’s all good. I personally think that Jamie should keep to the soulful ballads and nasty sex songs. He in his 40’s and him making songs for a 18-24 crowd makes it really forced and unnatural. I really tried to get into this album, but I just couldn’t. Some of you may love it, others may feel like me, MAYBE this album will grow on you. I’ve listened twice already to every song…and I stand by my rating.
