Nas has received some very good financial news.  According to TMZ.com, the rap star has had his child and spousal support payments to ex-wife Kelis cut in half.  Nas must now pay slightly more than five-thousand-dollars a month in child support, as well as 20-thousand-dollars a month in spousal support.  Nas was reportedly able to get the judge to reduce his payments by proving that the poor economy has reduced his income.  The “Hate Me Now” rapper had previously been ordered to pay 51-thousand-dollars a month in child and spousal support.

Nas and Kelis tied the knot in January of 2005.  Kelis filed for divorce in April of 2009 citing “irreconcilable differences.”  She gave birth to the couple’s only child — a son named Knight — the following July.  Nas and Kelis’ divorce was finalized last May.
