Two people were shot near Circle Centre Mall Saturday night and a suspect was apprehended, according to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police.

The first victim was shot around 9 p.m. at the mall, and another was shot about 20 minutes later at a nearby restaurant, said IMPD spokeswoman Sgt. Linda Jackson.

A 17-year-old male shot in the foot in the first incident was taken to Methodist Hospital in good condition, Jackson said.

Police arrested a suspect in that shooting.

The second victim, a 15-year-old male, suffered more serious injuries, Jackson said. That victim was taken to Methodist Hospital in critical condition, she said.

Police were unsure whether the two shootings were related.

Streets in the area of the mall were temporarily closed Saturday night while police investigated the incidents.

Jackson asked that anyone with information about the shooting incidents call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.

Police were also investigating a third shooting on the city’s Northwestside that occurred just before midnight Saturday.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
