IMPD Chief Paul Ciesielski announced in a news conference at 5:30 p.m. “Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer David Moore won’t recover from his wounds”
Officer Moore was critically inured after suffering multiple gunshot wounds in a traffic stop Sunday morning. The Mayor Greg Ballard and fellow officers joined IMPD Cheif Ciesielski as he fought back tears during the brief statement at Wishard hosiptal.
“The Moore family has begun the process of giving David back to God,” Ciesielski said. An MRI indicated Tuesday the damage to Moore’s body from the gunshots was severe. The family is beginning the process of donating his organs.
IMPD and Moore’s family appreciate the support offered by the community, Ciesielski said.
