It’s like that old song goes… “Reunited and it feels so good”…

It looks like Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul are getting back together.  Sources tell “The Hollywood Reporter” that the former “American Idol” judges are teaming up again on Cowell’s new project, “The X Factor.”  Inking Abdul’s deal took longer than some expected, reportedly due in part to an option CBS had on her after her previous competition show “Live To Dance.”  But now it appears all the details have been worked out, bringing Paula to the “X Factor” judges table just in time for the start of production, which began today.  She and Cowell join previously confirmed judges L.A. Reid and Cheryl Cole.

The “X Factor’s” hosting team has also been confirmed.  Fox officially announced Saturday that former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and UK TV personality Steve Jones would be taking on the duties.  “High School Musical” star Corbin Bleu was reportedly considered for the job, but insiders tell “The Hollywood Reporter” that the chemistry between him and Scherzinger wasn’t as strong as Cowell wanted.  “The X Factor” is set to premiere in September on Fox.
