So the world (And by the world I mean Pac Fans) is very upset with the fact that Soulja boy is remaking the movie juice with his latest mixtape release. Now the number one gripe I hear is “Soulja can’t be Pac” and I’ll agree with that..but neither can Ja Rule, Lil Wayne, DMX Lil Boosie or anybody else that people have put in the Pac lane Since September of 1996.

Thing is…He is not playing Pac…He’s Playing Bishop which is the character Pac played. It’s a movie..I think some of you have let art become life and getting a tad too sensitive about this situation. Let breakdown facts

FACT

1. Most of you had no idea who Pac was when Juice came out: Juice released in 1992. Pac Had 1 GOLD ALBUM. Only thing he was known for BEFORE JUICE was playing himself in “Nothing But Trouble” Having a verse on “Same Song” with Digital Underground and “Trapped on the 2Pacalypse NOW album”. Now, no disrespect to that but I’m willing to bet that most of you mad people just got a history lesson. Cause some of you didn’t see Juice till 1994

2. Soulja Boy is a bigger star doing the remake vs Pac doing the original. Like it or not Soulja Boy is a household name…And some of you have helped in this process. Don’t turn on the star you created because end of day..He wouldn’t do the things he do if he wasn’t getting money

3. Outside of Sam Jackson and Queen Latifah…The original Juice was casted with a bunch of “Virtual Nobody’s”. Now some great careers have spawned AFTER that movie like Omar Epps but real talk…Who did you KNOW in that Movie that was a main character??? Not the extras..Cause Fab 5 Freddy in the movie too but out of everybody in more than one scene. Who did you know?

In close…Dont look at Pac legacy and then pass judgement on who is playing what. What if the director did the remake and casted some random black dude or up and coming artist like he did the first time…then how would you feel?

Now if it’s wack it’s wack. I personally don’t believe in doing remakes so Im against the idea in general and I won’t be supporting it under the act of “Leave The Golden Era Alone”. I’m not mad though…that’s y’all

So give me some feedback…What is your real Beef with a Juice Remake?
