This might contain some spoilers so if you haven’t seen it yet, my bad. If you haven’t see it yet, YOU’RE TRIPPIN’! I’m giving this movie a strong 4 out of 5 stars.

This movie is before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto who played two young men working together with other Mutants to prevent nuclear Armageddon.

I must say that James McAvoy, who played Professor X, and Michael Fassbender, as Magneto, did a GREAT job…so great that future X-Men series won’t necessarily need the older Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. I really like the new Mystique. Eye candy all day but I did like her personality. They gave her a lot of character. Kevin Bacon did a good job playing a jerk, like usual.

Everything was well pieced together and everything made sense in the end…like explaining why Professor X is paralyzed or why Magneto is so angry and brainwashed with his us (Mutants) against them (Humans) mentality.

And now…the bad. I wish they would’ve had more original X-Men characters. Obviously, Professor X and Magneto were the main characters. Mystique and Beast were the other 2 original X-Men characters that I noticed. They never really revealed when Mystique or Professor X or even Beast realized their power like they did with Magneto. Wolverine made a very brief cameo, which was hilarious.

Also, why does the Black guy Mutant have to die so early? We’re still killing off the Black guy early in 2011? Dang. Then, as Professor X and Magneto were recruiting Mutants around the World, they ran into a light-skinned Black girl who could spit fire balls and had insect wings. Did I mention that she was a stripper? She eventually turned into a groupie. Yeah. About that…

The action scenes were simply amazing…specifically Magneto’s bar scene and the final scene in it’s entirety. I was definitely at the edge of my seat. The action scenes weren’t necessarily predictable but Magneto’s whole revengeful demeanor, which lasted the WHOLE movie, sure was.

Regardless, this is a must see for X-Men fans and I actually enjoyed it more than any other X-Men movie. 4/5 stars from me.
