Indiana’s new handgun law goes into effect next week. It allows people to carry a handgun without a license under the following conditions:
– If they are on their own property
– It it’s unloaded in their vehicle
– If a handgun is carried to a shooting range for an instructional course or during legal hunting
– If the handgun is unloaded and securely wrapped
This is my take, I support the right to carry firearms considering that it IS apart of our Constitutional Rights…especially on our own property. However, I can see the right to carry an unloaded handgun in a vehicle causing some issues. I’m certain a full clip will be close and discretion will be abused. A permit is inexpensive and it keeps things organized and registered. Now, any and everybody can have a gun…so it seems. What are your thoughts?
