According to an interview in Esquire magazine with actress Hayley Atwell, she spoke about details about a new movie in the works, where the ATL’S Outkast member Andre 3000 may be taking a leading role.
“Next up is possibly a Jimi Hendrix biopic — an independent film with Andre 3000 from OutKast playing Jimi Hendrix. But I don’t know, really. The Atwell team is like, Let’s just wait and see.”
Nothing is official or confirmed yet, but Andre 3k did talked to the Daily News, ”Jimi was wild onstage, offstage, he was really calm.”
There have been numerous attempts to film a biopic, though the only one to prevail was a film called “Slide,” which was said to be a “fictionalized account of what happened during Hendrix’s ‘lost weekend’.”
This however, would have no involvement from the legend’s family.
