A couple of months ago, there was word about a gonorrhea superbug that scientists saw as a possibility. According to bossip.com, they’ve finally found that strand.

Since the middle of the 20th century, “the clap” has been easily treated by antibiotics. But scientists have found a strand in Japan that is resistant to antibiotics. The disease has mutated from simply a treatable STD to a widespread public health crisis.

So what have we learned kids? Practice safe sex and get regular check-ups because in more than 50 percent of women and 95 percent of men, there aren’t any symptoms that show up. If left untreated, gonorrhea can cause infertility and death.

If that doesn’t make you want to re-up on your condoms, I don’t know what will.
