Early Monday morning, Chicago police were in the right place at the right time.

A Domestic disturbance call was made at 12:30am on the city’s west side, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, the call was upgraded to a kidnapping.

When the two officers arrived on the scene, they saw a man holding a baby walking down the street. As the officers approached, the man turned and threw the baby towards the officers.

The officer quickly caught the baby and quickly handed the child back to the mother.

The suspect then began fighting an officer, landing several punches. He was eventually subdued, and the officers went to the hospital with minor injuries.

Both officers were injured in the struggle, the paper said, with one suffering a sprained shoulder and both suffering several lacerations. The officers were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and later released.
