A southern Indiana woman has been sentenced to 13 years in prison over the pulling of her 2-year old son’s teeth. The woman allowed her boyfriend to pull two teeth from her sons mouth with pliers. She pled guilty Monday, claiming that she was under the influence of drugs when the incident happened. Carder did not seek medical attention for her son. The Jefferson County Judge gave Jessica Carder a longer sentence due to her lack of care for her son after the event.
Karl, the 2-year-old victim is in custody of his paternal grandparents, due to his father and mother’s incarceration. The grandparents testified saying that the child had nightmares every night following the tragedy and now continues to have them once a week.
