This memorial took 15 years to make it happen and even a hurricane try to stand in the way, but today the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial was dedicated with a huge ceremony attended by hundreds of thousands of people from all over. Today was an extra special day as it also marked the anniversary of the ‘Million Man March’ that took place on October 16, 1995. Its hard to believe its been 16 years since that monumental march. This memorial means so much to African-American’s, everyone who has ever fought for civil rights and gives a measurement to how far we have come as a country. I’m SO PROUD!! I cant wait to visit the memorial in a few weeks. Here is the speech President Barack Obama made today during the dedication ceremony. Man do I love this man!
