Crazy…sexy…BROKE! Singer T-Boz of former hit group TLC has filed for bankruptcy! According to papers filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, T-Boz aka real name Tionne Watkins owes creditors $768,642.99. The debt is mostly from mortgages on her $1.2 million house.
The court papers show she takes in $11,700 a month in income, with monthly expenses totaling $8,821. You may remember, TLC had ten top ten singles, four number one singles, four multi-platinum albums, and four Grammy Awards but T-Boz only pulls in $1,200/month in royalties.
T-Boz might have dodged the bankruptcy bullet if she’d been able to collect the child support she claims she’s owed which according to the docs is $250,000.
She has an 11 year old daughter named Chase with rapper Mack 10. In 2004, she filed for divorce and requested a restraining order against him.
This isn’t the first of her troubles. She’d been diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia, along with discovering that she had a brain tumor that she’d been battling for three years. We wish her the best!
