April 30th, 2012 is not a concert date. There won’t be any DJ’s, gyrating video girls, smoke machines, platinum chains, or screaming fans. There will be State of Lousiana versus Torrance Hatch. His fans know him as Lil Boosie, and Boosie is fighting for his life. This coming April, a judge will have the option to give the Louisiana rapper the death penalty. The Huffington Post reports that, Boosie has been sentenced to eight years in prison for attempting to smuggle codeine, marijuana, and ecstasy into two state prisons (Louisiana State Penitentiary and Dixon Correctional in Jackson, La). However, drug smuggling is not what got Boosie in the ring with the grim reaper. Boosie is being charged with first degree murder. In 2009, Boosie hired Michael “Marlo Mike” Louding to kill 35 year old Terry Boyd. Louding is an experienced hitman who’s connected to four other known murders. What makes matters worse for Boosie is that, not only is Louding saying that the rapper ordered him to kill Boyd, but he’s also saying that Boosie gave him $15,000 to kill a Chris “Nussie Jackson,” a rapper who was featured on one of Boosie’s songs. Luckily, the Baton Rouge star hasn’t been hasn’t been charged with the murder of Jackson.

Today, Lil Boosie is grateful and thanking his fans for their unwavering support. In a letter to his fans, on XXLmag.com, Boosie says

“First, I want to than you all of you for supporting me through these hard time. Last month I was sentence to 8 years with credit for time served so i will have to do 19 months on that sentence. I go to trial for this murder charge in April so please keep me in your prayers.”
