Houston emcee Bun B is weighing in on Lil Wayne’s jail sentence.  The UGK rapper recently spoke with MTV News and stated that losing “Weezy” is a major moment in music history.  Bun B remarks, quote, “I feel bad, because I don’t think anything like this has happened in music since Elvis got drafted into the Army.”  He continues stating, quote, “Let’s just keep it real: Lil Wayne is not just the biggest rapper, Lil Wayne is the biggest pop star right now.  Maybe Susan Boyle is on his level.”  Bun B acknowledges that life on New York’s Rikers Island will undoubtedly be difficult, but believes that Wayne will find a way to manage.  Bun B says Lil Wayne will be best served to concentrate on himself and not worry about the lives of other inmates.  He adds, quote, “It’s not about being real.  It’s too many people who have way too much to gain, and [there is] so much he could lose by trying to prove something.”

Lil Wayne was arrested in 2007 when New York police found a gun during a search of the rapper’s tour bus.  On Monday, he was sentenced to a year behind bars on weapons charges.  Lil Wayne is expected to serve between eight and ten months assuming good behavior.
