In Wrath of The Titans,  the sequel to 2010′s Greek mythology action film, Clash Of The Titans, Sam Worthington reprises his role as Perseus, the demigod son of Zeus.  Ten years after hitting The Kraken with a Stone Cold Stunner, Perseus is living a quiet life as a fisherman raising his son.

However, because he and the rest of the world have turned their backs on the gods, the Olympians are becoming mortal. Now the chains that hold the titans and the evil father of Zeus, Kronos, are weakening and Sam’s Perseus is asked to help, but he has no f*cks to give about the immortals.

However, during a press conference for the film, Worthington had a few to hand out to the delight of the press. The Aussie thespian’s reel talk was real talk. He said it, he meant it, and bit his tongue for no one.

To hell with your mythology. Literally.

“It’s not a history lesson,” he said of Wrath, which is a unique storyline inspired by Perseus’ fictitious life. “We just utilize this great field of characters, creatures, situations and journeys. We created our own mythology. I get  excited by that prospect. Purists are probably gonna f*ck us.”

He hated the first Clash…

“I’ve been pretty vocal about how I felt about the first one and what I did in the first one,” he said of Clash, the special effects driven remake that was nominated for a Razzie Award for horrible films. “That’s not to put the first one down at all. But this time I wanted to create a character instead of just being a conduit for the action…by coming up with a different dynamic for this dysfunctional family that happened to be gods…”

Set Trippin

“That thing Marlon Brando says, it’s a strange occupation for a grown man,” he answers when asked about the prospect of being injured on the movie set. “I got mates that play rugby so they call me a p*ssy ass actor.”

What happens at fight club..

“I liked fighting the Minotaur. The fact that the labyrinth actually moved. It was a brutal fight like UFC. I was kind of over heroes that had big six packs and did stylized action scenes. I wanted to do a movie where the hero gets a little beat up. That was the cherry on top.”

The Prescription For 3D Movies

“Make it good! I’ve been in the one that was most revered (Avatar) and the most slighted (Clash Of The Titans). If used correctly it can draw you into a world. With movies like this it’s perfect. But if used incorrectly–I’ve been part of it–it can give someone an aneurism.”

Wrath of The Titans is in theaters this Friday March 30th, 2012
