After issuing an apology for a racists headline referencing Knicks guard Jeremy Lin (click here for details) ESPN has fired one employee and suspended another who referenced the “Chink In The Armor” headline.

“We again apologize, especially to Mr. Lin,” ESPN wrote. “His accomplishments are a source of great pride to the Asian-American community, including the Asian-American employees at ESPN. Through self-examination, improved editorial practices and controls, and response to constructive criticism, we will be better in the future.”

In related news, the cast of SNL wasted no time poking fun at the insensitivity in a sketch on last night’s show (which may have been it’s best all year.). Bill Hader, Kenan Thompson, Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah, emphasized the racial element in the media’s coverage of Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin while recycling all of the bad puns.

A highlight of the sketch was when Kenan Thompson and Jay Pharoah became righteously angry at even a hint of racial stereotyping of African Americans like Kobe Bryant, but had no qualms with their own “Lin-sensitive” jokes. #Message
