CBS Sports.com reports that Larry Bird has told Pacers owner Herb Simon to plan for his departure after the season.

According to the report, the 55-year-old has been the Pacers president since 2003 and has told several friends he is leaving the organization.

Meantime, the Pacers take on Orlando in the playoffs this weekend, and Danny Granger has led the way.

Granger averages 21 points when the Pacers win and 15 when they lose, so the Pacers need to him to play well to have any hope of advancing in the playoffs for the first time since the 2004-05 season.
