Summary: The Ultimate Merger is a spin-off of The Apprentice. The reality series follows  the same theme as the previous reality show The Bachelorette. Donald Trump choses 12-14 young men to compete for Omarosa’s (Season 1) and Toccara’s (Season 2) affection. During a number of challenges, both relationship and business driven, the men will be tested on their potential compatibility with either Omarosa or Toccara. The winner of each challenge will get a date later that evening.

After a series of tests, the men will meet in the “Mediation Room” where either Omarosa or Toccara will ask questions and state concerns and ultimately chose someone to be eliminated.

During their time at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, the men will have to control their tempers if they want to win the lady’s love. However, the drama ensues as the men get into fights and constant disagreements. The viewers are left wondering who will make it and who will go home?

Impact: The Ultimate Merger was one of the first reality dating series to feature an almost completely African American cast. The show has opened the eyes of its viewers and shown us that you can find love with anyone, no matter your age, profession, or race.

Aftermath: At the end of Season 1, Omarosa was down to one man, Ray Lavender. However, Ray was in the process of a divorce and technically still married. Therefore, Omarosa was left with no one. After the show she announced that she was in a new relationship with Academy Award-nominated actor Michael Clarke Duncan.

Trivia: Both Omarosa and Toccara had been in the spotlight before The Ultimate Merger. Omarosa was on season one of The Apprentice, but was “fired” in week 9. She returned to the show during the seventh season but was fired once again in week 10.

Omarosa also worked an entry level job, answering invitations in the office of then-Vice President Al Gore during the Clinton Administration.

Toccara was on the third cycle of America’s Next Top Model and was the eighth contestant eliminated. She was also a contestant on Celebrity Fit Club.
