Ebony Steele recently talked to “Sister 2 Sister Magazine” about “Dish Nation,” her relationship with Rickey Smiley and much more. Check out Ebony’s interview below…
Executive producer Stu Weiss is adding a new spin to “zoo” radio and bringing it to television with “Dish Nation.” The program features a mix of nearly 20 of the nation’s leading drive-time personalities who add their own flavor to reporting the hottest celebrity news. “It’s very TMZish,” explained Ebony Steele, co-host of “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show” in Atlanta.
Ebony is joining “Dish Nation” with the rest of her morning show crew including HeadKrack, Gary with da Tea, Rock-T and close friend and comedian Rickey Smiley who she credits with helping introduce her to radio. When the opportunity presented itself, Rickey convinced Ebony to step away from her job as a pharmaceutical rep and join him on air. “He always said if he ever made it in entertainment in any way, whether it be in radio, TV or whatnot, he’d want me to be his female sidekick,” recalled the Tuskegee graduate and breast cancer survivor. “It’s the best leap of faith I’ve ever taken.”
