It looks like being part owner of an NBA franchise is the new sign of status, like owning real estate. Ofcourse entertainers who have a minor stake in an NBA franchise is nothing new: Usher owns a part of the Cleveland Cavaliers (this was cool when Lebron James was still on the team, not so much now), Nelly has a stake in the Charlotte Bobcats (not thebest look since the team set a record for futility last season), and the most celebrated owner is Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter who now looks like a genius a couple years removed from being the franchise all the big free agents were passing up in the newly minted Brooklyn Nets.

Add Justin Timberlake to the list of entertainers looking to own a piece of an NBA team. Timberlake is from Tennessee so it would be only right for him to want to attach his star power to the upstart Memphis Grizzlies. Timberlake is joining a group of investors led by billionaire Robert Pera. The reported price tag for the franchise: $350 million.

That shouldbe no sweat for Timberlake who probably made that money with N’Sync.
