Pop star Usher has hit back at his ex-wife and her request for a new custody trial, calling it an insult to the justice system. Tameka Raymond, the mother of the singer’s two sons, filed legal papers asking for a new trial after losing primary custody of the children. At the heart of Raymond’s request is the allegation that the presiding judge received campaign contributions from Usher’s lawyer in the past, and was therefore biased.

According to gossip site TMZ, Usher filed his response to Raymond’s request last week, describing his ex-wife’s actions as “an assault on the integrity of the court”.

Describing Raymond as “delusional”, Usher’s alleges that her motion “constitutes a continuum of [Tameka’s] vile and unsupported claims that every person who dared testify against her … is biased and tainted”.

A judge has yet to rule on the matter.

In the original judgement, Usher was awarded primary custody of his sons after a bitter battle in which he was accused of using drugs in front of the children, as well as being an absentee father.
