On a mission to prove that platinum-selling, Grammy Award-winning recording artist Bruno Mars isn’t the only gifted singer in the family, the 4 sisters of the “When I Was Your Man” crooner are set to chronicle the development of their debut album in a new reality series airing on WEtv, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Scheduled to air this fall, the series will consist of eight hour-long episodes following the lives of Tiara, Tahiti and Presley Hernandez as they move from Hawaii to Los Angeles to join their older sister Jamie to make their dreams come true in LaLa Land. The sisters perform as The Lylas (@THELYLAS).
After graduating from high school in 2002, Mars, born Peter Hernandez, was the first to move from Hawaii to crash with big sister Jamie. Releasing his platinum-selling debut, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, in 2010 and his sophomore album, Unorthodox Jukebox, last year, Mars has been wildly successful, garnering critical and popular acclaim. According to the Associated Press, his No. 1 hits include “Locked Out of Heaven,” ”Just the Way You Are” and “Grenade.”
Now his sisters are poised to follow his lead.
“The Lylas are fierce, independent women, leaving their home — and in some cases their relationships and kids — for a chance at pursuing their love of music,” Lauren Gellert, WEtv’s vice president of production & development, said in a statement. “Their story is one filled with all of the drama and chaos that comes from making a major life change, with the added spice of doing it alongside your sisters.”

The Lylas joins The Ruckers: Southern Royals in the fall WEtv lineup. Billed as a Kardashian-like “docusoap,” The Ruckers follows the lives of Ruby, Ellen and Ione — three African American sisters who are scions one of the oldest and most prominent families in the Carolinas.
The Lylas will air on Friday nights and The Ruckers will air on Thursday nights beginning this fall.
