According to USA TODAY, several funnel clouds touched down west of Oklahoma City on Friday evening.  A  mother and her baby are confirmed dead after they got trapped in their car during the storm.

Various storms spawned tornadoes that  touched down or spun close to the ground around El Reno, which is situated about 25 miles west of downtown Oklahoma City.

Reports are coming in confirming flipped over cars are on I-40, utility poles are down and livestock are said to be on the road from the El Reno tornado.

People are trapped on the highways as a result of rush hour traffic and also of trying to flee the wrath of the storms.

KOKH-TV reported,

“Downtown Oklahoma City was expected to be hit by a “large, violent, life-threatening tornado”

One storm chaser said;

“The twister is about a half-mile wide. It’s the real deal.”

Said another eyewitness;

“It’s like a tornado, a hurricane and a monsoon all wrapped up in to one. “

The storm was expected to pass north of Moore, where a 1.3-mile-wide tornado that hit the city  on May 20, 2013 killed 24 people, including 10 children, in the southern Oklahoma City suburb.


KFOR-TV reported.

About 1,000 passengers at the Will Rogers Airport evacuated passengers to an underground tunnel until threat passes, No flights are arriving or departing.

NEW TORNADO IS ON THE GROUND IN NORMAN OKLAHOMA, and the power is now out for the citizens in it’s path.
