Rollingstone Names The Hip Hop King, Eminem! Did They Get It Wrong? Vote Here (thumbnail)

In the new documentary “How To Make Money Selling Drugs,” rapper Eminem talks about his past drug addiction problems and near death experiences.

Eminem’s problem with drug addition comes as no surprise to his fans. He has been very vocal about his struggles in the past and even let a few instances loose during his rap verses. In the new documentary, Em takes through a time where he almost died from a pain pill overdose.

In “How To Make Money Selling Drugs,” Em tells viewers how his addiction to painkillers started and revisits the night he almost overdosed on Vicodin.

“When I took my first Vicodin, it was like this feeling of ‘ahh.’ Like everything was not only mellow, but didn’t feel any pain,” shared Eminem. “It just kind of numbed things. I don’t know at what point exactly it started to be a problem, I just remember liking it more and more.”

As with most drug addicts, it took Eminem a while to come to terms with his addiction. Oblivious to the fact that he developed a real problem, he just continued to use. It wasn’t until he found himself in the hospital after one particular binge that Eminem acknowledged his problem head on.

“Had I have got to the hospital about two hours later, I would have died. My organs were shutting down. My liver, kidneys, everything. They were gonna have to put me on dialysis. They didn’t think I was gonna make it. My bottom was gonna be death,” added Em.

“How To Make Money Selling Drugs” is directed by Matthew Cooke and produced by Adrian Grenier of “Entourage” fame. It had its theatrical release over the weekend in NY and LA.
