A Boeing 777 operated by Asiana Airlines crashed while landing Saturday at San Francisco International Airport, an FAA spokesman told CNN.

Flight 214 had flown across the Pacific Ocean from Seoul, South Korea.

Anthony Castorani, who saw the flight land from a nearby hotel, told CNN,

” I saw the plane touch the ground then noticed a larger plume of white smoke. You heard a pop and you immediately saw a large, brief fireball that came from underneath the aircraft, it began to cartwheel.”

There is no word on survivors but we know that some people have survived the crash.

The Weather Channel reported that they saw nothing weather related that should have been a factor. There were no fog or reduced visibility issues and winds were light.

According to MSNBC, no flights are being allowed into or out of San Francisco Airport right now. The airport is closed.

The Urban Daily will continue to follow and update this story as more information becomes available.
