blurred-lines-we-cant-stop-650-430Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke are bringing their songs of the summer to Brooklyn. The singers have been added to the lineup for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

Miley Cyrus will perform her party anthem “We Can’t Stop” live from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on August 25th. The pop star is nominated for four VMAs this year including Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, and Best Editing.

Robin Thicke will also hit the VMA stage for the first time to drop his huge summer hit “Blurred Lines.” The racy video featuring T.I. and Pharrell is nominated for four Moonmen including Video of the Year, Best Male Video, and Best Collaboration.

Cyrus and Thicke are also among the nominees for the inaugural Best Song of the Summer Award. Other nominees include Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” featuring Pharrell, Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding’s “I Need Your Love,” Selena Gomez’ “Come & Get It,” and One Direction’s “Best Song Ever.”

I am excited to be an inaugural nominee in the Song of the Summer category and to be performing on the VMAs,” said Thicke. “We have some big surprises planned and I hope everyone will tune in to see it.

Previously announced performers include Lady Gaga, Kanye West, and Katy Perry, while Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the nominations with six each.
