It seems information wasn’t coming out fast enough regarding the marriage of “Scandal” star Kerry Washington to now former San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, so online reports started citing the marriage as a ruse; something pumped up by Kerry’s PR department.
Though people were surprised that such a secret could be kept, after the bride and groom exchanged vows in a super secret Blaine County, Idaho wedding last July, that didn’t stop the naysayers. But now, without a leg to stand on, they can just seal it, because the proof is out.
“They are legally married,” JoLynn Drage, recorder with the Blaine County Clerk’s Office told Radar on Wednesday of Washington and Asomugha. “They first got their affidavit, then the marriage license. They had the ceremony and brought it back with the officiant’s signature. Both documents have been filed and recorded, which means a wedding did take place and they are legally married.”
After online reports about the marriage being a fake surfaced last week, the online publication simply did a search that produced the marriage results they were looking for.
End of story.
But in other Kerry Washington news…
The star was feeling a little frisky as she headed over to the Ellen show; where she dished on those ‘Scandalous’ storylines.
In typical Ellen fashion (she always makes a visit to her set look like so much fun!), there was a lot of joking around, and Washington didn’t hesitate to play along.
When Ellen joked about the dozens of magazine covers the Scandal star is on this month alone, holding up covers of fictitious magazines called Knitting Weekly, Chess Masters and Kale Quarterly; without blinking Washington chimed in “Kale is really good for you…Listen, you know I’m a Lady Gaga fan, so when she did the meat dress I said I could do the kale dress.”
That Kerry Washington, you gotta love her! Check her out on Ellen below.
