According to Buzz Feed.com, George Zimmerman was arrested at approximately 1 p.m. ET today (November 18th Monday) in Apopka, Fla., on unspecified charges, according to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.
He will be booked at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Sanford, Fla.
The sheriff’s office is expected to release the arrest report and 911 disturbance call later on Monday.
According WESH 2 News they report that the arrest followed a domestic dispute between Zimmerman and his girlfriend. Zimmerman’s estranged wife Shellie pursued domestic violence charges against him in September, but those charges were dropped last week.
Shellie Zimmerman has previously said her husband felt “invincible” after being found not guilty in July of murdering teenager Trayvon Martin. Since his acquittal, Zimmerman has been involved in a handful of encounters with Flordia authorities.
