Model Joan Smalls was feeling the “Yonce” video so much, she decided to lick Beyonce.
Yes, “That was my idea,” she said about licking Queen Bey.
Although it was totally unplanned for Bey to get licked, Smalls ensured fans the pop icon tasted sweet!
But one would think unexpectedly licking a pop superstar could would be a bad career move, right? Because maybe that pop superstar did NOT want to be licked!
Well, Smalls did ask right before they shot the scene.
“‘Yoncé all on his mouth like liquor’—I’m like, ‘Can we actually see what Yoncé would taste like? Can I lick her?’ And they’re like, ‘Go for it.’ I’m like, ‘Are you sure?’ And I asked her, and she’s like, ‘Absolutely,’” Smalls said.
There it is, it only made sense to lick Beyonce! Bey Hive if the opportunity presents itself to meet Bey, DON’T actually try it though.
“I mean, I do what very few people in this world would ever do,” she said. “So Jay Z is a very lucky man,” she added, laughing.
But improvising the video was basically what Smalls (with models Jourdan Dunn andChanel Iman) had to do anyways.
“It was basically us being ourselves, and just in the moment,” Smalls told VF Daily. “It was only a certain vibe, and a certain energy that was required in the video. It was up for interpretation; you could laugh, you could do whatever you want. You just had to be yourself.”
