Gucci Mane will be spending the next two-and-a-half years in a jail cell.

The Brick Squad rapper will serve time in exchange for pleading guilty to gun possession.

TMZ.com reports , Gucci pled guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon today (Tuesday May 13th). The charge carried a maximum sentence of 10 years, but Gucci received 39 months under the terms of his plea deal. Gucci will receive 10 months credit for time served at an Atlanta jail. He is scheduled to be released in late 2016.  He will officially be sentenced in July. In addition to jail time, he faces a fine of $250,000.
