IceCube and Son90’s  Hip Hop heads and West Coast rap enthusiasts are excited about the upcoming N.W.A biopic and it has been confirmed that the leading role and one of the founding members has decided to keep it in the family.

During the L.A. premiere of 22 Jump Street, Ice Cube confirmed with E.T. that his son, O’Shea Jackson, Jr. will walk in his father’s footsteps and portray him in the film, titled Straight Outta Compton.

He was born to play the role. He was born to play that part,” said Cube. Despite the obvious hints at nepotism however, Cube assured the former 106 & Park host that the look was earned and not given.

We don’t give out no freebies,” he continued. “He had to earn it, no doubt. He went the whole mile. Screen tests and everything. When Universal looked up, he was the best man for the job. He did everything we asked him to do and I’m so proud.

The biopic is set to be released in the 2015 and will chronicle the storied careers of Cube, Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, MC Ren and DJ Yella as they became one of the first Hip-Hop acts to garner national attention on a global scale.

Jackson, Jr. has guest starred alongside his father on several of his albums under the stage name OMG.
